If you’re looking for a beach holiday, then look no further than the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. This is where the first thing you smell is the salt from the beaches, the first thing you feel is the wind in your hair and the first thing you see is an endless stretch of golden sand. It's a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and an ideal destination escape perfect for a holiday.

The Sunshine Coast has an area of approximately 462.4km and a population of more than 250,000 people. This is why it's in fact not comprised of one beach, but seven beaches that include Noosa, Coolum, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands, Mooloolaba, Kawana Waters and Caloundra which stretch for over fifty kilometres.

There’ll never be a shortage of things to do or see at the Sunny Coast as there’s an endless number of great activities which suit everyone whether you’re into nature and wildlife, adventure and sports, shopping and markets, spa and health, beaches, arts and culture or amusement/theme parks.

If you’re into immersing yourself into the natural beauty of nature and wildlife, activities such as camping, wildlife watching and hiking, and places like national parks and gardens, zoos and sanctuaries are perfect for you. Some of the possible great day adventures that you’ll enjoy are Amamoor State Forest, Bellingham Maze, Brisbane Whale Watching, Caloundra Coastal Walk and Ex-HMAS Brisbane Conservation Park.

If adventure and sports is your cup of tea, then activities like adventure tours, motor sports, golf, fishing, adrenaline sports, horse-riding and water sports will be just what you’re looking for.  Places such as Aqua Fun Park, Caloundra Cruises, Currimundi Active Recreation Centre, Coolum Surfing School, Kiah Park Horse Riding Camp, Mooloolaba Bowls Club and Noosa Oceanrider are definitely worth checking out.

Shopping is a girl’s best friend, and where better to do it then at the Sunny Coast where there’s literally endless places to shop.  Some of the best places to give that credit card a workout are Colundra Street Fair, Cotton Tree Markets, Daze Gone By, and Sunshine Plaza, but just from driving around in the car, you’ll be able to spot an endless amount of small, classy boutiques located all along most of the streets.

But then again, it’s good just to have a break every now and again and pamper yourself, and in that case a nice quiet spa or beauty salon is just what you’re looking for. And in that case, places such as the Aqua Day Spa at Sheraton Noosa Resort and Spa, Ikatan Day Spa, Mooloolaba Salt Caves, Temple massage or the Sound Spa can cater for just that.

And of course, if you really just want to hit the beach and soak up some sun, the Sunshine Coast has some of the best beaches in the world. These include Kings Beach, Cotton Tree, Coolum, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Beach and Golden Beach, but these are just some of the many amazing beaches located at the Sunny Coast.

If arts and culture are what interest you, the Sunny Coast is known for its ability to combine past and present culture. Art galleries, theatres, cultural festivals, museums and historical sites will be just what you’re looking for and in that case, it’s be worth checking out the Butter Factory Arts Centre, Clock Centre Montville, Eumundi Markets, Montville Art Gallery, Nambour Arthouse Cinema and Sunshine Castle Bli Bli.

All in all, this warm sunny holiday destination is the ideal destination for anyone. The combination of sparkly water, blue skies and warm weather all-year round make it arguably one of the best holiday destinations in the world and should definitely be visited by everyone in their lifetime.
