Have a thrilling time at the Gold Coast theme parks

Article by Isabella Murray, ATP contributor

Gold Coast theme parks are the perfect playground for thrill-seekers. Get a VIP pass and you'll get access to Seaworld, Wet & Wild, and Movie World. Seaworld is right in the heart of the Gold Coast – at Main Beach, and Movie World and Wet & Wild at half way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Seaworld is famous for its “Storm” rollercoaster, Jet Rescue, Sea Viper, the Flume ride, and a fabulous kids play area. Be sure to enjoy the highly entertaining dolphin and sea lion shows, and visit the very playful polar bears in their icy-cold enclosure.

For an extra $10 per person, you can go to the mini water park with a pool for a cool-off. Make a day of it and hire a cabana complete with its own television, fridge, lounge chairs so you’ll feel like you’re on your own island.

If you’re looking for a place to stay, book in at the nearby Seaworld Resort, Sheraton Mirage, or the very fancy Palazzo Versace. Seaworld Resort is ideal for families, and is a short monorail ride to the theme park. The resort has a brilliant pool, warm spa and water activities, and has free entry to the mini-waterpark.

As for food…the options are endless, and the food is amazing. If that isn’t enough, the staff are very accommodating, you’ll never want to leave.

Movie World

Movie World is jam packed with cool rides for kids of all ages. There’s the WB kids play area for the little ones.

One of the coolest rides at movie world is the Superman ride. The Scooby Doo ride also super fun and a little scary. Don’t miss the daily Movie World parade where all the looney tunes characters march through the streets.

Wet & Wild

Wet & Wild is packed full of waterslides and rides to keep you cool on a hot day. Just some of the thrilling rides are the Black Hole, Tornado, March  5, and Kimakazi.

Take a break and relax at Calypso Bay, or swim around in the man-made wave pool. Face your fears on a big water slide or tube water-slide. The little ones will love the whirlpool springs with its mini pools and bubbles.
