Family Friendly Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is fun, family-friendly and very laid-back. Whether you’re a wildlife warrior, aviation enthusiast, or aspiring knight in shining armour, the ‘Sunny Coast' is sure to entertain you with its abundance of attractions to choose from.

  • Whale watching is one of the best wildlife encounters you will ever experience.  Between July to November, you can watch the annual migration of around 7000 humpback whales as they migrate north. Choose from full and half day tours where you can watch  and admire these playful and majestic ocean mammals.

  • Australia Zoo is a true Australian icon. Australia Zoo was made famous by the legendary Steve Irwin – also known as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’. His legacy is now carried on by his children Bindi, Bob and wife Terri, who are all enthusiastic wildlife conservationists. Australia Zoo is home to Australian native and International animals. Watch in awe as huge saltwater crocodiles are fed by hand, and get up close and personal with cuddly koalas, not so cuddly echidnas and so much more. There are world-class exhibits including the Crocoseum, Africa, Elephantasia and Tiger Temple.

  • Visit Underwater World SEA LIFE, Mooloolaba. This is a marine animal menagerie where you can explore the wonders of the ocean without getting wet. See sharks, seals, turtles, otters, and much more. Check out the Tidal Touchpool where you can (gently) tickle a sea star or touch a squidgy sea cucumber. Want to get even CLOSER! Do a Shark Dive Xtreme scuba experience where swim where all the action is!
  • Visit the Maleny Dairies which is an operational dairy farm that runs morning and afternoon tours from Monday to Saturday. Maleny Dairies spans over 200 acres of verdant hills in Maleny. Discover how milk gets from the cow to the carton, feed a calf, and sample some of the farm’s award winning dairy products. This is a fun day out and is perfect for families with young children.

 Fossicking, foodies and fun!
